The farm year starts around now, and farmers will soon be busy planting new crops. Ashanti Development already trains farmers in 51 villages in farming and marketing, and we’re busy recruiting more villages to join the scheme. The pictures show Nicholas, our Country Director, explaining the scheme to farmers from Odumase village and Odumase Komkoma, which is the part of Odumase where migrants from the Komkoma tribe have settled.

Farmers Day Awards
As we come to the end of the year, we would like to shed light on two Ashanti Development-trained farmers who won awards at Farmers Day at the beginning of December. Razak Kwamang Frimpong of Amoaman won the best Youth Farmer Award in Sekyere Central District, and Johnson Agyei Douglas of Bobin won the best municipal carrot farmer in Mampong Municipal District. Congratulations to both.
Afehyia Pa and Happy New Year!
Special Honour of Recognition Award
We were honoured to be presented with a special award by the Sekyere Central district assembly. They said that Ashanti Development was the best charity to have worked in the district, and chief after chief made speeches in our support.
Have a great Christmas everyone ✨
New Borehole at Dome Village
Dome village has its own borehole, but we need a second for the clinic we’re building there. In the past, to drill a borehole we’d hire a drill rig with its team and a supervisor. Nowadays Nicholas, our Ghana Director, supervises the work himself, making it a lot cheaper. The photos show the clinic borehole being drilled.
New Equipment at Nsuta Clinic
We recently bought a foetal ultrasound and a printer for the clinic at Nsuta. A few weeks ago we dropped by, just to check everything was working properly, and managed to take these photos.
