Community Clinics

So far Ashanti Development has built seven clinics, including our more recent – the polyclinic at Dome.  Each one has been handed over to the state to manage, staff and partially equip – and have always been very satisfied with the result. These clinics offer local communities much needed access to healthcare.

In addition, we launched a Develop a Clinic initiative, encouraging individuals and communities to sponsor and support the creation of new clinics in our villages. Thanks to this initiative – and with our ongoing support – more clinics are being built by villagers with our guidance.

See table below for a summary of the clinics developed to date.

Adapting and Improving

Recently we’ve been adding solar power – a simple and efficient upgrade. It means nurses can examine patients hands-free in the middle of the night, medication can be safely refrigerated and even watching a bit of television becomes possible during quiet moments.
